I Love Technology… and our new POTUS
I love technology. I’m usually not a first-adopter most of the time, but I almost always make my way to the bright and shiny new toy that catches my eye. Not to mention I am all for making something better. My CrackBerry addiction has been quenching my thirst lately. More on that later.
Also, how about our new President? This guy is definitely the president for me, and everyone in the younger generations. Every new generation of people adapt their lifestyle around new ideas and technology. Cell phones for example. My generation received cell phones when we were in High School. I know generations before me got them even later. But now, there are kids in 3rd grade maybe even younger with cell phones talking and texting away.
Facebook (also include MySpace and the like) is a HUGE social interface. As the newer generations sprout and mature, you are sure to find them on these sites.
Our society and culture have greatly shifted, as it is supposed to do with time, and now we have a President that is actively apart of that shift. One of “us”, from the younger generations, looking to the future.
President Obama appeals to me as one of “us” because of these things:
1. First change as soon as he took oath. The new White House website. Its fresh, clean, and informative. It turns me on a lil’. It also has a blog!
2. The Blackberry. Since I’m a CrackBerry addict myself, it’s nice to know that my President, and Commander-In-Chief, is an addict too. I use my BB to stay in touch and its a great conduit for information.
3. He uses a Mac for his personal computing. (No explanation needed there. Macs are awesome.)
4. He is active on getting our economy back to normal as fast as possible. I like that because I’m in my 20s and don’t want to spend them in a second coming of the ‘Great Depression’. BTW, I agree on the salary cap for execs that require a government bailout.
5. He looks good doing it. Just like JFK, President Obama has swagger, and it shows with his taste in fashion.
